The old adage "When one door closes another opens" couldn't be more true in the restaurant world. The above pic was sent in by a reader who says that Cindy's Restaurant in Eagle Rock was the victim of a car crash: "The guys standing around looking at it said it happened around 3 am (this morning) Sunday, and was a byproduct of a street race." We just talked to an owner who says she plans to rebuild and hopefully reopen for breakfast, lunch and dinner in about three weeks. The location was an early Route 66 roadhouse that opened in 1946. Directly across the street is Larkin's, which finally recently opened after many, many, many delays.
