Cafe Stella's new bar, a separate concept at Sunset Junction, may open within the next month, according to several restaurant staffers. The space is currently being filled with kitschy antiques and will offer additional seating for diners as well as a separate evening bar experience. The bar, which took over Driftwood clothing shop and a florist on the corner of Sunset and Sanborn, has encountered criticism from Eastside residents who are protesting a wall, according to The Eastsider. Meanwhile, owners Gareth and Christine Kantner are remaining mum on complete details as they put the pieces together and decide on a name.
