If you haven’t yet been to The Spare Room inside Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel, that’s alright. After all, there’s a whole reservation rigamarole, the bowling’s expensive and parking can be atrocious. The biggest thing you’d be missing out on, though, are the cocktails.
Now, the Spare Room’s drinks program is getting an even bigger boost, thanks to Yael Vengroff. Most recently seen at Harvard & Stone and plenty of Proprietors LLC (Honeycut, Chapter & Verse) properties, Vengroff steps in as overall Beverage Director for the Hollywood haunt. At only 27, Vengroff is already a known commodity in the cocktail world, and will be working alongside Spare Room owners Marc Rose and Med Abrous to up the ante at the bar.
A 2014 Fastest Hands in the West winner and National Speed Rack champion, Vengroff is also a pretty big figure in next week’s Golden State of Cocktails, so be on the lookout. There may be no better time to finally make that Spare Room dream come true.
