Soft opened on Monday, Pure by Michele La Porta, a fast casual café modeled after owner Michèle La Porta's tea salon Thé Cool in Paris, is now offering healthy lunch items and teas to the South Beverly crowd.
Thé Cool, opened by Parisian-born La Porta back in 1985, offered light savory dishes along with pastry and tea. The tea house rose to popularity when former French Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy tasted its "almost no calorie cake," whatever that means. From there, La Porta went on to host a French morning cooking show before moving to LA to put on a series of Thé Cool pop-ups.
Opened in partnership with Isabelle Azoulai, Pure sports an almost entirely white interior with a splash of blonde wood for an extremely bright, modern space. The menu features La Porta's famous starlette cake, pre-packaged healthy lunch options, and, of course, the requisite made-to-order juices.
Pure by Michele La Porta is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
