Phillip Frankland Lee talks Top Chef [Spoiler alert]
Scratch Bar / Gadarene Swine chef Phillip Frankland Lee is no longer part of Top Chef, having been given the boot on a recent episode. Less than thrilled with the way he was portrayed on the show, Lee took to the internet to voice his displeasure, telling She Knows that the judging wasn't fair, that he was so intensely focused on winning when the season started that he actually stopped drinking three months before, and that there were others (yes, he names names) perhaps more deserving of going home than him.
Locale 90 lands second location in Hermosa Beach
The South Bay neapolitan pizza experts Locale 90 have turned out a second location in Hermosa Beach, right inside the former Umami Burger address near the pier. Their first location in Redondo Beach must be doing well, as the restaurant is expanding into new territory less than two years into is founding.
Coffee Source now roasting in Studio City
The strip mall morning spot Coffee Source appears to be up and running in Studio City, as this twitter post shows. It's a clean, simple look for the Valley spot, but comes with one cool feature: at least some seating is centered in a horseshoe directly around a large Giesen roaster.
