It’s almost time to experience the reformatted former home of Spaghettini and the Dave Koz Lounge for yourself. The Beverly Hills nightlife spot went down after roughly 18 months, and in its place comes Citizen, a sleek new cocktail-focused destination under the guidance of chef Scott Howard. And best of all: it’s opening this week.
The former Spaghettini space has been completely overhauled by Spacecraft Design to provide a more modern and sleek feel, full of atmosphere and light on pretension. They’ve also redone the patio to make room for some of that summer outdoor dining the city loves so much, and plan to make the place available as of Friday, July 15.
That’s when you’ll first be able to get a taste of Howard’s casual cooking, which includes options like crispy jidori chicken, raw oysters, and a lot of vegetables. A full menu is below. Meanwhile, Josh Goldman is behind the cocktail program, which is where Citizen will likely lean. The plan is to be craft cocktail destination not just for Beverly Hills, but for greater Los Angeles.
Citizen opens for business on Friday, along Canon Drive, keeping dinner hours to start. There will be a weekday happy hour though, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., which will include oysters, ceviches, and more.
