EXCLUSIVE: ONE Sunset to Open in March

A few weeks ago, a reader noticed construction in the former Barfly space, and our calls to help identify the new tenant went unheeded. So we tracked down the info ourselves, because that's just how we do. ONE Sunset, an outpost of the popular (or despised) NYC restaurant/lounge ONE, will open sometime in March. We spoke with one of the owners, Erica Cohen, the fashionista behind the operation (literally… her bio on the Web site says she's responsible for "appearance & image.") about ONE moving to LA. First off, an image consultant for a restaurant? Bonus LA points for ONE; couple that with a celeb following, and the stalkarazzi is probably claiming their territory as we speak. Former Vibrato chef Chris Ennis will lead the "New American sharing plate concept." Expect DJs and bottle service after 11:30pm.

Cohen tells us, "Although there are some great restaurants, and some great clubs in LA, there is not one venue that combines both like ONE does successfully in NYC." We imagine some Angelenos might disagree with that, but props to the gal for unbridled confidence. The same restaurant group owns STK and TenJune in Manhattan; Cohen will be in LA to oversee the opening.
