Plywood Report: Doug Arango's Quick Transformation
Monday, September 17, 2007
WEST HOLLYWOOD: Like an episode of Flip That House, Doug Arango's has quickly gone from desert-homey to contemporary neighborhood chic in the blink of an eye. The restaurant just closed on September 6 and here's a snap from Sunday; in just 10 quick days, it's a completely new spot. Life as Melrose Bar & Grill starts this week, but only for friends and family (we're told). The restaurant opens opens on Sept. 24. Right after we posted news about the shutter, we've had many people---many in the industry---comment on how much they like Chris and Julie Bennett, what they do, how they do it, and wish them nothing but the best. That has to stand for something.

Looks like they borrowed the white scheme from Murano nearly next door, meaning just a few buildings to the west, yet did it on the cheap.
Still looks boring.
