Truth in Advertising: What a Load of Crap
Thursday, September 27, 2007

2007_09_golden%20river%20crap%20special.jpg

While this isn't really a Sign of the Times, it was an ad in the Times. Found in yesterday's LAT food section, which makes it even more giggle-worthy. (What are we, Jay Leno?) We like crab, not too fond of crap, or carp for that matter. Whatever the typo may be.

It was printed without error in my copy of the Times too. It was crab, not carp. Perhaps eater was the victim of a hoax?

I picked this up from Franklin Ave, who picked it up from Padgett. Maybe he picked it up before it went to print? Or created the hoax himself? Who knows. It's still funny!

I assure you this was not altered by anyone; I have the typo on my desk for a daily laugh.

Depending on what Los Angeles Times edition readers have delivered to their homes, meant some parts of the city had the revised copy and some not. Out here in San Dimas we had the crap special delivered to us, while Santa Clarita had the crab special.

San Dimas receives the San Gabriel/Inland Empire edition of the Times.
