The Dish: Café La Boheme Opens Tonight
Monday, October 15, 2007
We have a little Dish today, with more to come later in the week. We can't be everywhere at once: Do let us know if something debuts in your neighborhood.
WEST HOLLYWOOD:Café La Boheme, the latest, more casual rendition of La Boheme, quietly debuts tonight. Chef Christine Banta still has control of the menu, serving seasonal, rustic fare, only this time with more Japanese influences. As noted earlier, the dramatic décor has been scaled back a bit, courtesy designer Margaret "Peg" O'Brien (who designed the original). We're hearing wicker, larger bar area, less tromp l'oeil. But the chandeliers stay, because there is nothing more fabulous than a good chandelier. Opening softly (though publicly; they asked if we wanted a res for tonight when we called), but going bigger come Thursday. [8400 Santa Monica Blvd., 323.848.2360]
