Continuing the izakaya trend is Yuta, a newcomer to the Studio City sushi lineup. Chef-owner Kazutoyo "Yuta" Moribe took over the former Vineyard Terrace (a location that's seen many restos come and go) for his Japanese small-plate fare using a seasonal, Slow Food bent. He makes, for instance, his own tofu and ricotta, plus polishes the brown rice in-house for sushi. So close to Sushi Nozawa, the place couldn't be more different: Wood-beam ceilings, wood furniture, earthy palette, a cozy neighborhood vibe and no 'sushi nazis'. More in the LAT.
