Just as new Italian restaurants open (Terroni, Joe's Pizza, Mozzas), a piece of LA's Italian-American past will be demolished. Angelenic reports that Little Joe's in Chinatwon will finally be demolished to make way for a massive mixed-use project. Little Joe's closed in 1998, and we can't find info on when it opened, but we're told it was once the oldest Italian restaurant in town. It's sad no one no one could retain the building's cultural and historic significance---a large Italian population called the area home in the early 1800s---but the circle of restaurant life must continue.
