There's little reason we should even speculate any more, but since Nobu West Hollywood is currently hiring, we thought it was a good time to revisit the never-ending construction site. Nobu picked up the former L'Orangerie space as soon as it was announced the famed French restaurant would close a year ago (yep, a year already). Demolition and construction began almost immediately and we heard Nobu would open in August. Then October. Then January. Above, the Ply as we saw it in August---the restaurant is getting a full-out overhaul and redo---but it looked the same for months. There were delays, permit issues (natch), and then they said January. Now it looks like a mid-Februrary or early March debut, according to GM Justin Wyborn. But the company is still expanding: Another Nobu opened two weeks ago in San Diego's new Hard Rock Hotel.
