We talked to Craig Strong, exec chef of the Dining Room at the Ritz in Pasadena, last week. Extremely happy with his Michelin star, the chef is unsure what the future will hold now that the Ritz will become the Langham hotel in January. As it stands, he doesn't "have a concrete offer" from the hotel group yet. Would he like to stay? Yes. He says he's ready to work for that second star, plus he's excited to see what changes are in store for the property and his restaurant. What will he do if he doesn't stay with the hotel? Yet to be seen, but might we suggest his own place in Pasadena? Oh, dare to dream. [~ELA~]
