Morton's Closing Sale: Books, Booths, Booze

Closing sale, 12/26/07

When Pamela Morton says everything must go at Morton's, she means everything. After 28 years, a packed final week and a bittersweet last night on December 22, Morton's will become the West Coast outpost of the Soho House next fall. Since the restaurant needs to be cleared out by January 2, there was only one thing to do: garage sale. Morton's mixed tapes (cassettes!), weathered cookbooks and wicker chairs, glasses, silverware, and those huge green booths and mirrors were scattered around the room yesterday, and it's priced to move. Even wines and booze---at cost. Last chance to get in on the deals is this afternoon.
