BREAKING: Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce Closing
Friday, February 15, 2008

We'll have more details on Ivan Kane's Cafe Was, a new restaurant in the former Schwab's space at Sunset + Vine, but we have bigger fish to fry today. His burlesque baby, the original Forty Deuce on Melrose will shimmy its last shake in mid-March. Official verbage from his peeps:

Always one to set the trend, not follow it, Ivan Kane is once again following his instincts and mixing up the nightlife scene. Ivan Kane has just announced that he is taking the iconic burlesque experience he created and reinventing it in downtown Los Angeles in Fall 2008.
We're awaiting word on where Kane will reopen downtown, and who will take over that Melrose location. Story developing.
