Primo Cucina: Gourmet Market, Italian Resto Downtown

Curbed got this snap of Primo Cucina signage at Barker Block downtown, Kor's loft development in the Arts District, and noted the market/restaurant/bar concept coming to the property. We, of course, recognized that Primo logo tucked off to the left from Caffe Primo on Sunset Boulevard, which led us to Primo owner Tony Riviera for the scoop:

Primo Cucino will debut this winter. It will have a full gourmet shop including wines and spirits, full service italian restaurant and several labratories including a roasting plant and gelato lab. I am so excited about bring this concept to life.
For those downtown denizens and workers who dreamed of a Dean & Deluca, this might be as close as it comes. "Gelato lab?" That's damn spiffy. Riviera says the Caffe Primo at the Pegasus Apartments (corner of Wilshire and Flower, next to Daily Grill) is underway and will be a similar concept to the original: patio seating, paninis, pizzettes, salads, lots of creamy gelato. "We will have multiple concepts designed to the needs of the area."
