An early rendering of Kitchen 24

HOLLYWOOD: A new entrant for the Cahuenga Corridor is close to opening: Kitchen 24, the new mod diner is a throw-back to the classic diner but updated with lots of white, walnut tables, some fuscia thrown in for color, all courtesy Kris Keith and Spacecraft Design. The twist: There will be a full-bar and DJs. We hear there's activity afoot (read: private parties) but the (hopeful) public debut is May 30. [EaterWire]

HERMOSA BEACH: The wine shop portion of Brix@1601 at the Hermosa Pavilion officially opened. Brixwine will offer wine tastings daily with a small menu from the restaurant; if you buy wines from the shop for dinner next door, corkage is $20 with a two bottle max. [EaterWire Inbox]
