We have some new details about Brad Gluckstein's Conga Room, the Latin nightclub that closed after an eight year run on Wilshire Boulevard (original owners included Jimmy Smits, Jennifer Lopez, Sheila E.) that's set to reopen at LA Live downtown in December. The space is still very much under construction, but please enjoy some renderings of style elements and the VIP lounge. In addition to nightly music, a full sit-down restaurant will feature Latin cuisine from...drumroll please...newly appointed exec chef Alex Garcia. Garcia hails from Calle Ocho and Babalu in New York among others, and was host for the Food Network's Melting Pot, which we don't recall ever seeing. He's in the process of planning and tasting the menu, so no real specifics yet, but we know there's something called "the Mexican Hang-over Breakfast" for late-night. More soon.
