The weather outside is appropriately and oddly frightful here in LA, which makes this no better time for you high rollers to start planning a lovely spring getaway: The second annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine festival tickets are on sale now. The weekend (April 16-19) bursts at the seams with celebrity chefs, intimate dinners, walk-around tastings, wine-soaked panel discussions and fantastic food. In a word, it's bananas. Last year we were incredibly fortunate to have full access to just about any event (and took in as much as possible and then some), and while the food and wine and hobnobbing were ridiculous, we were particularly fond of this one room.
The celebrity chefs will be there in droves---Keller, Colicchio, Cosentino, Mina, Morimoto, Ripert---but also more Los Angelenos this year like David Myers, Josiah Citrin, Nancy Silverton, Michael Cimarusti and Joachim Splichal. And it's all around the gorgeous exclusive 17-mile Drive resorts up north. Individual event tickets start around $165 per person with grand VIP packages exceeding $12,000 for two, so no way is this an inexpensive recession retreat. But if you've got the dough and love food and the grape, by all means, plan now.
