COSTA MESA: Last night at Sona we chatted with David Myers (sporting the full-on winter beard) about his upcoming Orange County plans. We already know he's working on a second loctation of Comme Ca near South Coast Plaza, but he and Steve Samson are also opening a casual Italian spot, Ortica, in the former Turner New Zealand space. He sounded very excited that they just installed wood-burning ovens and that things are moving along. The Italian spot planned for the original Boule space, just a few doors down from the current location on La Cienega, will also be Ortica. Myers said it will be very casual, reclaimed woods, mismatched furniture, etc. "I want it to feel like you're in someone's else." Ortica and Comme Ca will open in the OC first (early '09), and then Ortica here in LA will be a few months later.
