Merely 7ish months (almost to the day) after opening up on Abbott Kinney, the stylish AK Restaurant + Bar is calling it quits. Yikes. Chef and owner Conny Andersson announced today that as a result of "creative differences" with his financial partners, he will shutter AK effective June 20, and he is currently looking for a new location in which to reopen. In the meantime, the space at 1633 Abbott Kinney will house a different restaurant with a new name and menu. The news come as quite a shock to many, especially after SIV awarded the eatery with 2.5 stars back in Feb, and after the restaurant was recently nominated for an AIA/LA design award. [EaterWire]
