Hollywood: Construction continues on the ground floor of The Lofts at Hollywood and Vine, making way for two new dining establishments. A previous report brought news that Lonnie Moore and Mike Malin of the Dolce Group had plans to take over the old Vine Street Lounge. The takeover is confirmed and construction has been underway for a few months now to make room for an unnamed eating/clubbing venue, and it's a biggie. Over 8,000 square feet to encompass 302 dining room seats, open from 11a-2a. Then, next door comes a dining/drinking spot from the other side of the spectrum created by owner Omar Moss. Supposedly opening within the next few weeks is Dillon's Irish Pub & Grill, the perfect no frills anthesis to any type of Dolce establishment.
The Irish pub motto? "No velvet ropes, no cover charge, no rude doorman, no attitude, and nothing over-priced," not even the valet parking, which their website claims will offer the "lowest valet prices in Hollywood." As for edibles, expect the full regalia of bar food offerings, though Dillon's will actually serve a full menu from apps through dinner to dessert. [EaterWire]
