Yesterday, Peter Garland, owner of Porta Via in Beverly Hills, debuted The Bar Room, a new bar/lounge adjacent to his Canon Drive abode. Designed by his wife Jill, owner of V Vintage, a vintage jewelry boutique across the street, The Bar Room offers classic cocktails, beer, and wine along with small plate versions of Porta Via's signature dishes like Ceviche, Chicken Taquitos, Porta Via Burgers, Sweet Potato Fries with Bleu Cheese Sauce and Grilled Pizza. The space is divided up into several rooms; there's a covered outdoor patio with a glass-topped communal table made from an old iron door, then inside two private rooms offer more lounge seating for private parties. Newbie bonus, until April 15 stop in for half-priced drinks and free appetizers during The Bar Room's daily happy hour from 5-8PM.
