Friday's highlight was definitely The Grand Tasting held at the Caesars Palace pool with 50 of Vegas' top eateries preparing bites for a hungry crowd. Boy, did it get crowded in there. Early on in the evening culinary master Joel Robuchon stood outside his large restaurant setup and shook hands with fans introducing himself as Alain Ducasse. So great. Later on Hubert Keller took to the stage high above the party and mixed electronic beats for an hour before retiring. Saturday, Bon Appetit's Barbara Fairchild hosted an interactive luncheon with Wynn/Encore chefs Paul Bartolotta, Alex Stratta and David Walzog where guest had the opportunity to cook alongside the masters. Finally, Saturday evening a chic crowd gathered inside the Bellagio Ballroom for a fashionable feast of oysters, caviar, and Champagne, followed by a five course dinner where dishes served were inspired by the FENDI 2010 Spring/Summer Collection. In the center of the room was a long runway for models to traipsed through showing off the looks that inspired the meal. All in all, a fantastic culinary weekend, in fact, Friday night's Grand Tasting achieved record breaking attendance with 2,300 attendees. Nicely done!

Well, Bon Appetit's Vegas Uncork'd weekend was quite the success with top culinary talent hailing from near and far. The weekend kicked off with a grand opening soiree where Alain Ducasse sabered a bottle of Champagne inside his restaurant miX atop THEhotel, followed by a series of Masters' Series Dinners hosted by Bobby Flay, Guy Savoy, Bradley Ogden, and the Pellegrino and Straci Families of Rao's. Later that evening a sushi celebration ensued (for those that were not entirely stuffed from dinner) punctuated by girls in furry white bikinis at Shibuya. Endless bottles of sake displayed and waiting to be sampled, plus passed Kumamoto oysters and a bevy of Asian dishes.
