It's had to believe that a year and a half ago there was no such thing as Umami Burger, within a mere 16 months proprietor Adam Fleischman has built a burger empire. There's the original outpost on La Brea, the Los Feliz space, an outpost in Hollywood, the more recently opened Santa Monica cafe at Fred Segal, Adam even has a truck (who doesn't these days), he's also bracing to open the entirely new concept Red Medicine with Jordan Kahn, but wait, there is still another Umami in the works. Set to open September 1 comes the first ever Umami in The Valley! Specifically, Ventura and Laurel Canyon, 60 seats, free parking (yay), and an indoor/outdoor bar serving beer, wine, and cocktails. One interesting element to note about all the Umami Burger locations is that for the most part they all boast completely different design aesthetics. The original on La Brea is simple, minimalist, while Los Feliz has that Asian theme, Hollywood is modern/industrial, so what's the valley theme? Not a huge shocker, here Adam is going for the Hollywood Regency design aesthetic, so think classic Hollywood glamour.
