Despite the economy, Starbucks sales are up which translates into expansion mode and changes. The company plans to broaden availability of its subsidiary brand Seattle's Best to 30,000 locations (currently sold at just 3,000) by the end of the year, meanwhile Starbucks will also remodel existing units to offer beer, wine, an expanded menu, and self-serve coffee. This year about 100 cafes are expected to be retooled, followed by 1,000 in 2011. [NRN]
