Now that ancient Japanese dive Tokyo 7-7 has shuttered after quite a lengthy tenure (27 years!), the question still remains, who will move in? Before answering that, it's important to note that the Mexican eatery next door, La Ballona, will soon, too, call it quits. SO! Here's the deal. Rocco's, that homestyle Italian sports bar-ish spot with eateries in Studio City (Rocco's Tavern) and on Wilshire near Crescent Heights (Rocco's Pizza), has acquired both Tokyo 7-7 and La Ballona where owners will open one larger Rocco's. Ideally they hope to start serving in early March pending permits and all that fun stuff.
