Nine months after the launch of Santa Monica Place, the outdoor mall's third floor high-end gourmet alley, The Market, supposedly reminiscent of San Francisco's Ferry Building, launches on May 20 with a slew of independent, artisan purveyors. Overall The Market will provide customers with meats, olive oil, cheeses, breads, fruits, vegetables, plus prepared foods, so this a place to come by for certain groceries or even lunch. Right now management is working on finalizing all vendors, a few spaces still remain for additional purveyors, ideally local entrepreneurs. So far here's who snagged a space: Venokado wine shop, L'Artisan du Chocolat, N'Ice Cream, Röckenwagner Bakery, The Gourmandise School of Sweets and Savories and Community Kitchen, The Curious Palate, and Kings Road Cafe.
