For almost two years now there has been talk of improving the dining options at LAX by allowing local restaurants to open within the airport. Hospitality company Delaware North has spearheaded part of this process, connecting LA chefs and dining concepts with airport executives. So far we know that the following players are aboard: Ludo Lefebvre (LudoBites) with Ludo Vite, Josie Le Balch (Josie Restaurant) with nextdoor@LAX, King’s Seafood with King’s Oyster Bar, and Jimmy Shaw with Loteria Grill. Now comes word that LA institution the Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax is vying for space within Terminal 5 (the aforementioned eateries are vying for space within Terminal 4). The Original Farmers Market would redefine the notion of a food court, bringing with it high-quality foods from some of its longtime merchants: T & Y Bakery, Magee’s House of Nuts, Light My Fire, ¡Lotería! Grill, Monsieur Marcel and a Market coffee bar. So, yes, that would mean two airport spaces for Loteria. Once again, supporters can weigh in right here. [EaterWire]
