It's been almost two years since we first cast an eye upon Local 1205, a new project from Craig Weiss of The Otheroom (also located next door to The Otheroom). Supposedly, he wanted to open a NY-style deli and gourmet market, and over the months we tracked continued construction, which then finally seemed to stall. Weiss petitioned neighbors for support to stay open late and gain some outdoor seating, then one year ago we heard that he had run out of money and the project was a no-go. Since then the Abbot Kinney venue has remained tightly locked up. But, here's the latest. Despite the above action shots, word on the street is that the aforementioned concept might not happen. We're not exactly sure if the space is for sale or whatnot, but apparently chefs looking for their own real estate have come by to check this one out. As always, additional comments/intel down below.
