MID-CITY— For Cinco de Mayo, which is just around the corner, BLD is hosting a pop-up taqueria. Sort of random, but guests can create their own tacos with choice of protein (beer battered halibut, carne asada, grilled lamb), sauce (house made mole, tomatillo, honey chipotle aioli), and veggie topping (citrus slaw, roasted corn salsa, cilantro-onion-lime), all served in a house made corn tortilla. Obviously, margaritas to drink, festivities commence at 5PM. [EaterWire]
SANTA MONICA— Urban Daddy shares quite an alluring photo from within The Misfit. Check out the curtains around the bar, apparently there is "a covert rear balcony" as well. Not a whole lot of new info, but the restaurant still opens on Thursday. [Urban Daddy]
CULVER CITY— Daily Candy also shares a shot inside the former Gyenari space which has been reborn as the industrial-style MoKo aka modern Korean. And there's actually a slip-up. Per DC Pablo Moix (La Descarga, Harvard & Stone) created the libation list, but this is, in fact, not true. Pablo tell us that the bar manager Jason Drumwright conceived the drink list, he just spiced a few of them up. Anyway, MoKo opens tomorrow. [DC]
