After what seemed like months of inactivity over at the forthcoming Pizzeria il Fico, partner John Tierney (formerly owned Muse, old Playa/Grace space) sends word that the restaurant is expected to debut in a few weeks. He explains that the process took quite a long time, and he plus partners/chefs Nicola Mastronardi and Giuseppe Gentile (both of Vincenti Ristorante in Brentwood) are now awaiting final inspections. Once open, Pizzeria il Fico will offer guests a taste of Italy's Puglia region where both Mastronardi and Gentile were born. Take a crack at the daily lunch/dinner menu, Fico touts a wood-burning pizza oven which will also roast meats and such.
