Billy Richardson who heads up Block 16 Hospitality (Holstein’s at The Cosmopolitan) has two new projects in the works. First is The Barrymore which is set to open September 15 inside Vegas’ Royal Resort (just off the strip on Convention Center Drive). Their shtick is “an old school vibe that brings a contemporary twist to classic selections.” Think breakfast, lunch, and dinner comprised of the following: Lobster Eggs Benedict, Oysters Rockefeller, Octopus Salad, Fried Chicken with Cheddar Grits in addition to an array of fish and steak.
Meanwhile, Block 16 has also just inked a lease at the Venetian in a space next to AquaKnox on their restaurant row. The concept is a gastropub dubbed Public House slated to open by the end of this year. And like any good gastropub, Public House will feature a selection of craft beers, wines, and whiskey-centric cocktails, alongside edibles described as "contemporary versions of tavern classics with emphasis on seasonal high quality produce, seafood and meats." Block 16's executive chef Anthony Meidenbaur and pastry chef Carlos Enriquez, the latter of which makes his debut on Top Chef: Just Desserts tonight, will oversee the culinary programs at both ventures. — David Morris
