There's a recent post on Yelp that claims Burger Kitchen on 3rd Street has taken on new owners. Adam B. writes:
"...Unbeknownst to me, Burger Kitchen was just taken over by the team who runs Libertine (remember those Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots at last year's Yelp holiday bash?),Indeed Adam B. is mostly correct. Management behind Libertine did take over Burger Kitchen late last week. The plan is to redesign the menu under the guidance of chef Dan Murray (formerly of The Den) and go for a more casual beer-centric bar aesthetic. So, yes, changes underway. And actually, check out Burger Kitchen's website, even the logo looks different already. [EaterWire]Smoke City Marketand other establishments. Seems that Kitchen Nightmares just shot an episode here and El Gordo just ran amuck of the original Father and Son owners. So this was 'Under New Management' day and changes are already afoot. Logo is different, menu has been reduced to one page and items from milkshakes to those Aussie Meat Pies (can only wonder what Ramsay thought of that idea) are gone. More changes from how the meat is ground to using fresh potatoes for the fries to possibly an in-house smoker are all down the turnpike...Drinks are an issue here. They mainly want you to have a beer with 7 taps and 120 bottle choices. That number will soon be brought down to more like 40 which makes sense because in these economic times, who really wants a 30 dollar bottle of beer with a 12-15 buck burger?"
Update: Smoke City Market owner Michael Gans would like to make it perfectly clear that he and Smoke City Market are NOT involved in Burger Kitchen.
