1) West Hollywood: Grub Street spots signage for SnoBar, a forthcoming Taiwanese-style shaved ice cafe that will grand open on October 1 in the previous Quiznos space on Santa Monica near Westbourne. Facebook offers all sorts of interior shots of ply, and early Yelpage sets the bar high (though those last two reviews look questionable). John K. likens SnoBar's shaved ice to "cotton candy, but COLD" which comes in flavors like rose and hibiscus. [Grub Street]
2) West Covina: Per Facebook, crustacean cooker The Shrimp Guys truck and OC's Tropical Shave Ice Truck, a vehicle scraping Hawaiian-style shaved ice, will debut a collaborative brick and mortar sweet and savory cafe on October 15 in West Covina (address to be announced). Talks for a second location are already underway. [Facebook]
