Per signage, The StillRoom is a self-declared Seafood Restaurant & Lounge located in White House Plaza on E. Glenarm in Pasadena. Stepping in for the vacated Derek's Bistro, as of December 16, chef Sam Goldman serves this menu of American classics with a seafood-centric fin forward. The list of eats is actually quite small. Of course staples like oysters and chowder appear, but then again so do a mushroom Napoleon and a Moroccan vegetable tagine for a bit of variety. At the bar: speciality muddled drinks, wine, and sake.
Luckily, the indoor/outdoor space has been retooled by owners Kevin and Leslie Farrell to look less like an 80s hotel restaurant, and now feels more like a plush living room cloaked in darker hues. A crackling blazes in the lounge, and that table up front offers likely the best seats in the house. Down the line the Farrells plan to install an oyster bar in the main dining room. Hours of operation now run Wed-Thu, 5-11PM; Fri-Sat, 5PM-1AM; and Sun 5-9:30PM.
