Mocafe quietly opened its doors about a month ago on Santa Monica at Fairfax. The place was under construction for nearly a year -- ownership had to gut one of the most dilapidated buildings in West Hollywood in order to make it a habitable space again. Today, it serves this busy corner well, with interior as well as exterior seating and a very large menu. Breakfast (waffles, pancakes, french toast, eggs) is offered late on weekends and Mocafe is one of the few quick (non-fast food) spots in town where one can get a good hot egg sandwich to-go. There's coffee, organic tea, fresh juices and smoothies. Sandwiches and salads take over at lunch, but a small selection of hot plates carry the cafe into the early evening. [EaterWire]
