In the LAT piece on Tom Bergin's, we learn a number of new details about the soon-to-re-open Irish pub. Tom Bergin's is 63 years old and this year's renovations are the first since 1973. Bergin's new owners, Brandon Boudet and Warner Ebbink (Dominick's, 101 Coffee Shop), worked with architects to maintain the original look and feel of the interior. What's completely different about the new Tom Bergin's is the menu. With items like cottage pie croquettes, fried Cooleeney cheese, and a smoked trout and red Ogo seaweed salad, Boudet is clearly going for something both authentic and modern. [LAT]
