Osteria Drago looks nothing like the shuttered Drago in Santa Monica. A quick retool to the former Il Sole, Osteria Drago soft opened last week with an official push set for August 1. This right here is the limited menu on offer until early August when chef Evan Gotanda's full list rolls out. Plates are not cheap, but hey, this is a Celestino Drago restaurant. Venison carpaccio with white anchovies and raspberries will set you back $14, sea urchin panna cotta comes in at $16, meanwhile pastas fall between $12 and $30, and entrees like veal with lentils and gnocchi cost $28. Bone-in NY steak with a potato tart and red wine is a bit pricier at $38. And speaking of wine, the drink program focuses on Italian wine, craft beer, and Amaro.
