The place to sit at FigOly, the new restaurant from chef Alex Reznik inside downtown's Luxe City Center Hotel, is on the property's 2,000 square foot outdoor patio. Perhaps by a fire pit, maybe under an umbrella, or at the counter that looks out to downtown LA. Starting Friday, Reznik is serving a more casual, pizza-rich menu out here with a few other plates prepared in the restaurant's wood-burning oven. Meanwhile, the main dining room offers up a California-inspired take on Northern Italian from beef cheeks and oxtail with gorgonzola polenta to mussels roasted with tomatoes, pine nut gremolata, and bone marrow. Celebrated barman Matt Biancaniello of Library Bar in the Roosevelt is doing the drinks, he's known for infusing bourbon with shiitake mushrooms and spiking drinks with 20-year aged balsamic. So, fun stuff behind the bar. FigOly will serve daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
