Here's one that's been years in the making. Angel City Brewery is finally ready to start brewing for the public. Located in the historic John A. Roebling Building in the Arts District, the brewery is launching two new beers in a few weeks available for release in Downtown beer bars and pubs. The names are still TBA, but Brewmaster Dieter Foerstner comes by way of Gordon Biersch, hopes to brew celebral, experimental, but sessionable craft beers. The operation got revamped last January when original owner Michael Bowe sold to Alchemy & Science, a craft beer collab between Alan Newman and Stacey Steinmetz. Newman co-founded Magic Hat Brewing Company in Vermont, which grew to be the 9th largest craft brewing company in the country.
Since taking over ownership, Alchemy & Science has been reviewing and
revising all elements of the brewery’s plant, location, history and development plans. They expect to have a guest bar with 12 taps with a variety of experimental brews, as well as a private event space. In addition, they hope to start bottling by the end of the year. [Eaterwire]
