Super popular New York City ice cream scooper Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream is potentially looking to launch a truck and store in downtown LA. Brothers Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen first debuted Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream four years ago as a single vintage '50s-style truck serving premium ice cream, and since then their business has multiplied into a full on ice cream enterprise with nine locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, six trucks and three post and beam stores. The ice cream, made with local milk and cane sugar, comes in simple flavors like vanilla, hazelnut, and Gianduja. According to Van Leeuwen's website, all ice cream is made with the "finest flavors from small producers locally and around the world." Since NYC isn't exactly ice cream-friently all year around, Van Leeuwen also sells baked goods and Toby's Estate Coffee.
