Come early May, State Social House Restaurant and Lounge will stand in for both Red Rock Bar & Eatery and Isla Cantina on W. Sunset Boulevard. A project from Isla Cantina owner Robert Silverberg, State Social House will be divided between a first floor dining room with seating for 150, a second floor piano bar with seating for 75, and possibly a cigar lounge located downstairs and where Isla Cantina is presently situated. Chef Vernon Cardenas (brother to restaurateur Michael Cardenas) previously of Pink Taco and Innovative Dining Group will oversee the establishment's international small plate menu and mixologist Alex Jaimes has been hired to devise a speciality cocktail program. Also planned are 20 beers on tap and wine. Hours of operation to run daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., however the piano bar will serve from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
