Carlos Salgado, the ex-Commis pastry chef out of San Francisco who relocated south to open Taco Maria in The OC, is finally doing just that. While Salgado launched a Taco Maria food truck in 2011 with the help of his family, he's moving operations indoors to the hip OC Mix Mart this summer, possibly July. He's got a Kickstarter campaign up and running now, trying to raise $50k by July 10. Check out a sample of his mod Mexican menu (yes there will be beer/wine!) and listen to Salgado talk about the concept. He's planning an open kitchen with a dining bar and a heated outdoor patio (up top), serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
