Denizens of Main Street in the stretch between Santa Monica and Venice will have to wait a little bit longer before they can order the pan-Asian tacos and spicy garlic shrimp from Komodo Venice. Construction has hit a few snag in the past few weeks so staff is projecting an opening some time later this month. Originally slated for late September, the interior is still getting its main finishing work while the kitchen seems to be more or less finished, with the heavy equipment awaiting installation. The MASS Architecture-designed space will have an angular, advanced design with a unique ceiling installation. Meanwhile, it seems Tim Hollingsworth has stopped by recently to compare the tacos at Komodo. Maybe a little compare and contrast going on. This will be the second brick-and-mortar location for the concept after launching as a food truck.
