Judging by the list of the AAA 2007 Four Damond recipients, either the staff at AAA hasn't been out to dinner since 1987 or they only go where the aging AAA user would feel comfortable. The 2007 list includes:
JAAN at Raffles L'Ermitage (3), Spago Beverly Hills (3), Saddle Peak Lodge (10), Gennaro's Ristorante (7), Porter's Prime Steak House, (Hilton Los Angeles North/Glendale) (3), The Sky Room (3), Gardens at the Four Seasons (12), L'Orangerie (6), Patina (16), The Restaurant (Hotel Bel-Air) (9), jer-ne restaurant (Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey) (6), The Dining Room (Ritz-Carlton, Huntington Hotel and Spa) (4), The Raymond Restaurant (2), Valentino (12)
The numbers in parentheses are how many years the restaurant has made the list. We're not sure of the criteria, but we can't help but wonder why L'Orangerie continues to get awarded anything--save for the fact that it is the last bastion of haute French cuisine in L.A. Owner Gerard Ferry has had financial woes for years, due in part to numerous sexual harassment lawsuits his staff has filed, which led to its demise: The restaurant will close after its last dinner on December 31.
