Tokyo Table: The Denny's of Japanese Food?

Following in the footsteps of other imports like Pinkberry and Famima!!, Tokyo Table has plans for world dominance, beginning with Old Town Pasadena, Irvine, La Jolla and Sherman Oaks. (The website says "10 Years 50 Restaurants Nationwide.") The first outpost quietly opened last week on La Cienega's restaurant row; it even offered a coupon for 50% off your next meal if you kept your receipt. Debates about the quality of the food have already started; some say it's like the "Denny's of Japanese food," others think that's kind of cool. General manager Ryuichi Hamada says "it's the food that we eat everyday in Tokyo."

Want a Tokyo Table in your neighborhood? In a press release dropped in our inbox last night, the company, Dream Dining, LLC, is looking for suggestions. All yours after the jump.
