Eater Inside: Kumo

Alen Lin, 9/29/07

This is Kumo, the Michael Ovitz-backed "cloud" in the former Citrine space. Looking nothing like its predecessor, Kumo is a study in white on white on white, with a blue rug. Very crisp, clean, Hollywood chic. When we asked who designed it, partner Daniela Danilovic said it was "Michael's vision." The chef hails from HamaSaku, another Ovitz-backed restaurant, and brings with him a Japanese menu with some French and Italian influecnes. Yes, those are probably Ovitz's industry pals taking up the booths whilte the rest of us are relegated to the sushi bar or worse. Portions are small, prices high.

Some Plywood here and here, more on UrbanDaddy.
