Who's Having the Best Week Ever? Montrose!

Alen Lin, 9/16/07

First, Details magazine picks Montrose as a suburb worth escaping to, and now Miss Irene catches up with the newly open Bashan restaurant for her Thursday Critic's Notebook:

[Chef Nadav Bashan] is using the same top-notch ingredients you'd get at Providence or any other top restaurant in L.A. And while Bashan may be more high-end than this neighborhood has seen before, his professionalism and skilled, attentive cooking make this sweet little restaurant a real find at these prices.
No doubt it's a boon for the foothill nabe, a place we adore, especially to pick up Zeke's barbecue. But technically Bashan is in Glendale, just a hair shy of Montrose (yeah, we're sure his neighbors say they live in Montrose too, even if their zip code and mailing address say Glendale). What's next, Katsuya Montrose?
